Check By Phone is the electronic process that streamlines payments made from your customers over the telephone and is a great solution for any merchant who wishes to increase sales. Merchants are able to receive check payments from their customers via the telephone without waiting for the check in the mail. Unlike Electronic Check...Check by Phone is designed for merchants who do not have or do not allow Internet access to their sales consultants. This program institutes a manual solution by which the sales consultant simply fills out a form with all the customer's check payment information and at the end of the day all requests for payment are faxed to Elec Chk' processing department. We do the processing for you.

Check by Phone saves time and money while helping your business maximize sales from a large segment of consumers who do not have credit cards.

A customer calls in to place an order or to make a payment.
Merchant's sales consultant fills out a Check by Phoneform with the required customer's account and payment information.
Either a pick up time has already been arranged or the merchant faxes all requests for payment to Elec Chk's processing department for same day processing.*
All requests for payment are batched and processed electronically through the Federal Reserve via the ACH Network to each customer's bank for settlement.
Customer's bank submits the electronic file back to Eleck Chk with return codes reflecting whether the transactions have been "Cleared" or "Returned".
Upon clearance of the transactions, a report is e-mailed to the merchant and funds are electronically deposited into their merchant account on the 4th business day.
If any transactions are returned for "NSF", Bounce Backwill automatically resubmit them once funds have been verified by our Verification Team.
